Mandi

Details: Nikon D5000, Nikkor 4-5.6G 18-55mm, F5.6, 1/15s, ISO 800

Oh, what a wonderful day it was.

I had this weird wish of wanting to photograph the typical vegetable market. I don’t really go to the vegetable markets when I am in Bombay – prefer the convenience of a supermarket, since you get most of the things all under one roof. However, I will admit, the freshness of vegetables that you get in the actual mandis (markets) is far greater than what you will find in the supermarkets. I guess, we all pay a price for convenience.

Anyway, so in Calcutta, we were preparing for the big family picnic which was to be held on 22nd. So I accompanied my uncle and my cousin to the market to photograph the goodies, while they shopped around for the vegetables! 🙂
