Bombay Nightscape

I was at a friend’s place today and sometime during my visit, we had gone up to the terrace (on the 40th or the 41st floor). The view from the terrace was gorgeous. Despite that it was night-time, it does not escape your attention that while high rises and modern buildings have become the norm in Bombay, a significant part of the population continues to live in slums and shanties.
In the image above, the twinkling lights that you see beyond the initial cluster of buildings are actually from the houses in the slums.
