Since the last one week, I have contemplated participating in Fat Mum Slim’s Photo a Day Challenge. I thought of it as basically themes for my Project 366. Anyway, this being the first day of May, I thought, why not? So here it is, a picture for today’s theme – peace.
Peace continues to remain such an elusive thing. How many times does it happen that we are truly at peace with ourselves, our surroundings? And I won’t even begin talking about world peace. But I do wonder, what would it take to ensure world peace? Enough wars fought in the name of peace have demonstrated that they are no solutions to any sort of peace! Dialogue doesn’t seem to help – the numerous India-Pakistan “dialogues” bear testimony to that. What about your personal peace? How and when are you at peace with yourself? Is it a continuous state of being or just fleeting moments? And what does it really mean? Does it mean giving up worldly possessions and retreating to the mountains? Or does it mean being content with what you have and who you are? Does that mean that you do not aspire for any material things / positions henceforth? Would love to hear your thoughts on this…
